Accrington Market has announced an exciting new partnership with Threlfall’s Farm Dairies, a local dairy farm based in Clayton-le-Moors and Rishton. This collaboration will introduce fresh milk, milkshakes, and smoothies available through a dedicated vending machine at the market.
The new area will offer visitors more than just refreshments, featuring a dedicated seating area and an interactive experience with a giant cow figure for children to 'milk'. The addition is expected to be popular with families and milkshake enthusiasts, offering a choice of smoothies including mixed berry, strawberry and banana, and tropical flavours.
Threlfall’s Farm Dairies, a fifth-generation family-run business currently managed by Paul and Kirsty Threlfall, milks 200 cows twice daily. The farm processes its own milk, supplying local milkmen for doorstep deliveries across the community.
The partnership was facilitated by Town Centre Venues Manager Paul Fox, who highlighted the shared passion for local produce. "We love local, and local produce is a real passion of mine, so I’m really excited to be working with Threlfall’s and bringing something a little different to the market," Fox stated.
Paul Threlfall expressed enthusiasm for the venture: "It’s fantastic to be involved in the reopening of Accrington Market and we’re really excited about bringing the milk vending machine to the market. As a local family-run business, it’s great to be part of something like this and to have the opportunity to bring our fresh milk, milkshakes and smoothies to visitors."
Cllr Clare Pritchard, Hyndburn Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Transformation and Town Centres, welcomed the new trader. "We’re delighted to welcome Threlfall’s Farm Dairies to Accrington Market... It’s a really exciting time for Accrington Market!" she said.
The milk vending machine is set to be a key feature of the newly renovated Accrington Market, which is scheduled to re-open in November.
