Initially hesitant about a party for his 80th birthday, Richard Dawson embraced the idea and saw it as an opportunity to make his celebration special for others. Surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones at his home, Richard marked the occasion by requesting donations for Stockport NHS Charity, the official charity for the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
The funds raised, totalling £778, will help to enhance the environment and care for patients receiving cancer treatment at Stepping Hill Hospital. For Richard and his wife Pam, the event was a chance to bring people together while supporting local individuals receiving care.
