Holy Cross College marked World Mental Health Day on 10th October by participating in the YoungMinds 'Hello Yellow' campaign to promote student wellbeing and mental health awareness.

At Holy Cross College, good mental health is recognised as essential for student wellbeing, aiding academic and personal development. World Mental Health Day on 10th October provided an opportunity for the college community to unite, raise awareness, and highlight the importance of mutual support.
Members of the Student Representative Committee (SRC) wore yellow as part of YoungMinds' 'Hello Yellow' campaign, a national initiative supporting children and young people's mental health. The visible display of yellow across the college aimed to spark conversations and serve as a reminder that mental health is important every day.
The SRC organised a variety of engaging activities during lunch breaks, focusing on encouraging connection and positive experiences through games and challenges. These events aimed to help students meet new people and spend time with friends.
The initiative reinforced the college's ongoing message that no one has to face challenges alone. Holy Cross is committed to fostering an environment where students feel valued, respected, and supported through friendships, teachers, pastoral and support staff, and student-led initiatives.

"Thank you so much for getting involved with Hello Yellow this year! We couldn't be more grateful for the support. A shared laugh or a new friendship really can change someone’s day, and it sounds like your students make a lot of those happen. Thank you for showing up in yellow"
