Wyre Council has launched a public consultation on a draft review of the Hillhouse Enterprise Zone masterplan, inviting residents, businesses, and stakeholders to share their views on its future.

The consultation seeks input on the site's refreshed vision, future priorities, and development opportunities. Located in Thornton, the Hillhouse Enterprise Zone was designated in 2016 and is considered strategically important for economic growth, investment, innovation, and employment within Wyre.
The current masterplan, adopted in 2018, is being reviewed due to changes in the site, business environment, and the wider economic landscape. Wyre Council, working with principal landowner NPL Group, has developed the draft review.
Councillor Peter Le Marinel, Portfolio Holder for Planning Policy and Economic Development for Wyre Council, stated, "Hillhouse Enterprise Zone is a key site for business growth, investment and job creation in Wyre. We want to hear from as many people as possible to ensure the future direction of the Enterprise Zone reflects the needs and aspirations of our communities, businesses and stakeholders. I would encourage anyone with an interest in the area to take a look at the draft masterplan review and share their views."
The draft review is available to view online. Feedback gathered will inform future decisions before recommendations are finalised, aiming to build upon the existing masterplan while reflecting current conditions.
The consultation is open until Friday 6 November.
