Residents across South Ribble are invited to attend Remembrance Sunday services and parades on Sunday 8 November 2026 to honour those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Services and parades will take place in Leyland, Lostock Hall, and Penwortham, offering communities the chance to pay their respects. The commemorations will unite veterans, members of the Armed Forces, youth organisations, civic dignitaries, and community groups.
In Leyland, the parade organised by South Ribble Borough Council will depart the Civic Centre at 10:30am, proceeding to the Cenotaph for a service starting at 10:50am. A further service will be held at St Andrew's Church.
The Lostock Hall parade, organised by the Royal British Legion's Lostock Hall Branch with council support, will start from Wateringpool Lane at 2:30pm, heading to the war memorial at Hope Terrace for a wreath-laying at 3pm. A youth wreath-laying ceremony will follow at the Youth Cairn.
Penwortham Town Council is organising a service at St Leonard's Church at 9:15am, followed by a parade to the Penwortham War Memorial for a service at 10:45am.
Residents are encouraged to attend one of the commemorations or stand along the parade routes. The timings and proceedings follow national guidance from the Royal British Legion to ensure consistency and dignity. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed on South Ribble Borough Council’s Facebook page.
