Hyndburn Borough Council has opened applications for its 2027/28 grant programme, encouraging local organisations to propose events that will enrich the borough's cultural and community life.

Local organisations and event organisers are invited to apply for funding to deliver a programme of events across Hyndburn between 1st April 2027 and 31st March 2028. The council is seeking proposals for events that aim to unite communities, celebrate local culture, and encourage residents and visitors to engage with the borough’s high streets, parks, and public spaces.
The initiative seeks to attract attendees from across Hyndburn, East Lancashire, and the wider North West, while highlighting the borough’s diverse culture, heritage, businesses, and communities. Successful events will contribute to placing Hyndburn on the map, supporting local businesses and performers, and fostering community pride.
“

"This past year has shown just how much people value having fantastic events on their doorstep. From the crowds enjoying the Accrington Food Festival and the excitement of the Soapbox Challenge, to the fantastic atmosphere at new events like Proms in the Park, our events programme has provided something for people of all ages and interests. Events like these are a great way to put Hyndburn on the map, support local businesses and performers, and build a real sense of pride in our towns and communities. We’re looking forward to seeing what organisers come forward with for the 2027/28 programme."

Cllr Kate Walsh · Portfolio Holder for Cultures, Heritage, and Arts
