The South Lakes Family Hub experienced a particularly busy October, especially during the half-term holiday. The hub successfully ran Cats, Bats and Pumpkins themed craft sessions in five different locations. Feedback from attending families has been positive and will be used to enhance future sessions.
Regular sessions such as Infant Feeding, Stay and Plays, and Baby Explorers have continued. The hub has also increased its reach by starting new sessions in other areas, including stay and plays in Flookburgh and Ulverston.
For older children, the hub is now offering a wider range of activities. These include a Home Ed and Flexi School Club and MAXability sessions in both Kendal and Ulverston. Additionally, a weekly Construction Club is running in Kendal, aimed at young engineers and providing a way to unwind after school.
Looking ahead to November, the popular baby massage course in Kendal is set to return, with a few spots still available. This is described as a wonderful bonding opportunity for parents and babies. A five-week antenatal course for expectant parents will also be offered, providing advice and fostering a supportive community.
The North West Ambulance Service will be conducting a Basic Life Support Course on 26th November in Kendal, with places still open. For parents seeking support with children's emotional management, an online Diddy Decider Skills programme is scheduled for December.
Details for upcoming Christmas plans will be announced soon on the events and activities page. For comprehensive information on all upcoming events and booking procedures, please visit the Family Hubs Activities and events page.
