As part of Biology Week, Winstanley College hosted Dr Natalie Kenny, CEO and Founder of the BioGrad Group. She addressed more than 140 science students, detailing her transition from an aspiring scientist to a leader in the biotechnology sector.
During the session, Dr Kenny shared her career path, the experiences that led her to establish BioGrad, and the company's pioneering work in cell therapies. Students learned about how scientific research is contributing to new treatment opportunities for patients.
Dr Kenny also outlined various career opportunities within STEM fields for young people, including workshops and journal activities. She discussed diverse pathways into the pharmaceutical, research, and therapy development sectors, from small start-ups to global organisations.
The talk provided students with a valuable perspective on the range of careers available in STEM industries and highlighted the contribution of scientific expertise to modern healthcare and biotechnology.
