Staff at a Trafford school are celebrating the arrival of 45 much-needed computer monitors, a donation from Trafford Council's digital inclusion initiative.

Stretford High School in Trafford has received a significant boost to its digital learning capabilities with the donation of 45 refurbished computer monitors. The handover was made last week by Hazel Kindley, Trafford Council's Digital Inclusion and Partnership Manager, as part of the Council's ongoing digital inclusion efforts.
The donation addresses the issue of outdated or broken monitors in classrooms, which would have otherwise incurred a substantial replacement cost for the school. This allows funds to be redirected towards enhancing educational experiences for pupils.
These monitors are part of the Council's successful Trafford Tech4All campaign, which aims to help hundreds of children get online. Working with refurbishment partner Community Computers, the programme ensures donated equipment is professionally prepared for reuse, providing reliable technology to schools and residents while promoting sustainability and reducing e-waste.
The Tech4All Community Desktop Programme, launched in 2024, supports schools in bridging the digital gap by providing pupils with greater access to online services and study resources. This initiative champions a sustainable approach to technology by reusing devices.
