A green leaf symbolising environmental efforts against a backdrop of North West England's industrial heritage.
Local businesses across Westmorland and Furness are invited to apply for the third round of the Westmorland and Furness Council’s Greening Businesses Scheme, which offers free carbon footprint assessments and expert guidance.
The initiative provides businesses with the opportunity to collaborate with the Cumbria Business Environment Network (CBEN) Partnership. This partnership aims to help companies understand how to reduce their carbon footprint and consequently cut operational costs, fostering a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future for both their business and the wider Cumbria region.
Through this collaboration, businesses can receive a complimentary carbon footprint assessment of their operations. The findings from this assessment will enable them to develop targeted strategies or implement specific measures designed to reduce carbon emissions and achieve cost savings.
Applications for this latest round of the Greening Businesses Scheme are currently open and will close on Sunday 25 October. Eligibility is open to small and medium-sized businesses of any sector located within Westmorland and Furness.
“
"Through our partnership with CBEN, we’re offering even more organisations the chance to access free carbon footprint assessments and practical, expert guidance. The scheme continues to play an important role in supporting local businesses while helping our area reduce carbon emissions on our journey toward carbon net zero."
“
"We have had great interest in this latest round of the scheme and encourage all small and medium sized businesses of any sectors across Westmorland and Furness to take a look and make sure they get their applications in before the deadline closes in a few weeks’ time."

"This is a valuable opportunity to make changes that benefit both the environment and long-term business resilience."
