The annual Carlisle Fireshow, set to take place in Bitts Park on Saturday 31 October, is encouraging attendees to donate to local charities.

Visitors attending this year's Carlisle Fireshow are being asked to contribute to local charities. While admission to the event is free, a collection will be held to support the Rotary in Carlisle, as well as the chosen charities of the Chair of Cumberland, Cllr Andy Semple, and the Mayor of Carlisle, Anne Glendinning – Meningitis Now.
Andrew Meggs, from Rotary in Carlisle, expressed his honour in collecting at the event. "Rotary in Carlisle is honoured to be collecting at the event and look forward to supporting local charities with our share of the donations made by the generous people of the city and visitors alike," he stated. "We have been associated with the Fireshow for many years and look forward to many more under the stewardship of Cumberland Council."
Volunteers will be stationed at the event entrance with charity buckets. Organisers are appealing to adult spectators to consider donating at least £2 each.
This year's Carlisle Fireshow, organised by Cumberland Council, will mark Cumberland's countdown to the Tour de France Grand Départ in 2027. The event is scheduled for Saturday 31 October, commencing at 6:30pm in Bitts Park. The date was selected to avoid clashing with Remembrance events on Saturday 7 November.
The 37th iteration of the Fireshow promises a centrepiece bonfire and over 2,000 spectacular fireworks set to music. The event, which attracts over 35,000 people, is organised in conjunction with Merlin Fireworks Ltd.
A fairground funfair will operate in Castle car park (formerly known as Devonshire Walk car park) during October half term. On the day of the Fireshow itself, the fairground will not be present, but food and family entertainment will be available in Castle Car Park between 5pm and 8:30pm.
Admission to the Fireshow is free. The event is family-friendly, and alcohol or personal fireworks will not be permitted on site or within the Fireshow Village in Castle car park.
