Congleton residents will experience improved bus connectivity with the introduction of new evening, Sunday, and Public Holiday services across the Beartown Bus network.

The enhanced services, funded by Cheshire East Council’s Bus Service Improvement Plan, are designed to make travel around Congleton more convenient, particularly outside of standard daytime hours.
Routes 90, 91, 92, 93A and 93C now feature additional evening journeys from Monday to Saturday. These services will operate approximately every 90 minutes between 6:30 PM and 10:00 PM.
Furthermore, daytime services have been launched on Sundays and Public Holidays for routes 90, 91, 92, and 93A, offering residents greater travel flexibility throughout the week.
Cllr Kay Wesley, Chair of the Community Committee, stated, “This enhancement addresses a longstanding gap in the local bus network and is something Congleton Town Council has lobbied for over some time. Together with the roll-out of real-time passenger information and the town council’s Free Bus Days, I hope these improvements will encourage many more people to use the bus. Many thanks to the Cheshire East Bus Partnership for helping to make this happen.”
Reliable bus services are crucial for connecting Congleton residents to employment, education, healthcare appointments, shops, and social connections. These improvements are expected to facilitate easier travel within the town and beyond, supporting local businesses and promoting sustainable transport options.
